I've been anticipating seeing Amel Larrieux at this year's Summer Stage concert in Central Park, and last Sunday, I finally got to watch her perform.  Ya'll remember her from 90's R&B Duo Groove Theory?  Yep, Bryce * swoon* was there too.

 A moment of silence for the lusciousness that is this woman's hair.

Before we saw Amel perform, I made a beeline to the food vendors first.  I was starving, so I stopped at the shortest line -Mile End.

Close to an hour later, (we had to stand in one line to order the food and in another, to get the food), I anxiously bit into a pita wrap.

Let's just say that a one hour wait and missing The Roots entire set was worth it.  This stuff was delicious.  

Per these types of events, the eclectic crowd was out in full force- a photographer's dream.   

Fun times.
I noticed a lot of stares, so I figured my hair must've looked huge. Lol.  Naturals always get noticed.

The Technique 
I lightly misted my hair with water, and then applied two pumps of Jane Carter Solution Wrap and Roll, to big sections of hair, which were allowed it to set for a few hours.  Afterwards, I was left with stretched, puffy hair.

Then, I put in two strand twists with the aid of Curls Unleashed Curl Boosting Jelly, that were twisted around cold rods for the night.

In the morning, I unraveled the curls and undid the twists, and then separated my hair.  
Tip:  Whenever I separate braids or twists to create volume, I do not separate my hair completely at the ends. I concentrate on fluffing the upper portion of the twists/braids.  This helps to cut down on tangles that would occur if I completely separated and fluffed out the entire length of hair.

I was left with bouncy and light weight hair.

 By the night's end, my hair was swollen with fabulous dopeness!
