That awkward moment

when finally receiving what you thought you wanted, still leaves you feeling disconcerted.

It's unsettling at its most innocuous; and if left unguarded, could insidiously advance, consuming everything in its path. 

Intellectually, quite a few of us, accept that disconnect.  What we want, isn't always what we need.   

Got it.  

But, it's trickier in practice, isn't it though?  I work on practicing; absorbing the lesson in real life.  Moment to moment.
