Loose Twists Part Abuọ (2)

Hey guys!
We've been here before, haven't we?  Protective styling with loose twists, yes?
Of course you remember, because I raved about 'em last year!
Roughly over three weeks ago, I installed a new set.  They were redone for a third time last week, and I plan to keep them in for a few more days.

#Workflow
This time around, I grabbed bigger chunks of hair, copiously coated my fingers with coconut oil, and at first, snugly twisted them at the roots.  Afterwards, I lessened the tension on the twists by twisting very loosely down the remaining length of hair.  The resulting effect were twists that resembled locs or loose hair, depending on the angle and distance of one's gaze.

It's been a test in self control, keeping my hair locked away like this I have manic energy at times, which can manifest into this-

and few other failed styles I can't bring myself to post here.
Lol
My willpower is embarrassingly nonexistent.
 wetin man go do na?
So, I succumbed once more to some hair frolic; my latest style experiment being curls that were inspired by the fierce Miss Fizz of LITK.  One of the best aspects to loose twists, is that the hair still remains protected and controlled, while you're still able to maintain perfectly pliable, and full styles.

The Players

The Technique
I moistened my hair with Jane Carter's revitalizing leave-in conditioner and I went without sealing with any oils.  Then, I took three twist sections and coated them with the wrap and roll solution.  Afterwards, I wrapped the sections around their bases, until I had a head full of bantu knots.

I left them in for an hour; not long enough I know, but I was so anxious to see what the results would be, that I couldn't help myself.

Tip 1:  Let your bantu knots dry thoroughly before unraveling, lest the curls fall prematurely.

An hour later, the twists came out loosely curled- really, not bad for an hour's worth of air drying.  But, I imagine that the curls would've been even more of a success had I left the bantu knots alone for longer.

I know what to do next time.
Stay tuned guys; I've got 1920's flapper hair coming up shortly!

  1. What a coincidence, I just prepared my hair for loose twists too! Mine would be smaller though. I love all the styles especially the 14th one. Please can you put up a picture with a better view? I would like to try it out:)

I haven't since last September. I probably will try it again when the weather is warmer.
