Hey y'all!
As promised, here are the rest of the styles I did with Shea Radiance products. I wanted an authentically conclusive review for you all, and I'm pleased to report that through my trial, I found myself constantly reaching for the whipped shea butter and the nourishing hair repair cream for all of my hair styles. I'd moisturize with the repair cream, seal with the whipped butter, and proceed to styling. Quite simple.
I was in Atlanta a few weeks ago, to attend a dear friend's wedding,
Manise et Ralph- mwah!
Love you guys!
and I wanted to present big hair that also showed off length. The night before the wedding, I installed jumbo sized two strand twists, and curled the twists with flexi rods. The next morning, I unraveled the twists, and fluffed out my hair. Initially, the volume I was seeking was absent, and I wasn't really happy with the results, so I swept my hair together over to my left, and pinned.
The night progressed, my hair expanded,
and eventually, I removed the pins, and left it to do whatever it wanted.
Days later, I started noticing a bit of product buildup at my roots. It wasn't excessive, but still... ya know? I'm attributing this to the repair cream, and that I had reapplied it several times to my hair. The buildup is understandable, but nonetheless, I decided to co-wash and to revisit another old favorite; the curly fro!
More twists, though flat twisted and cold rodded this time around...
Of course, still using shea radiance creams, I was left with soft, lightly defined hair.

... then unraveled and fluffed.
I started loosing definition over the next few days.
Though, the wilder my hair seemingly got, the more I liked it.
Eventually, I gathered everything up, and whipped my hair into a neat and easy bun- first with faux bangs (I sectioned the front and tucked it under itself, towards my forehead)...
... and without.
Really feeling Shea Radiance, you guys.
:o)
What about you? Have you tried it yet?
I love this Orange pants!!!
ReplyDeleteI have actually tried some of the line. I won them in a giveaway. I didn't care for the Hair repair cream but it wasn't a waste because I gave it to hubby. He seems to like it....lol
It's masculine, right?? That's what I said. I'd LOVE it, if the scent was more... yummy? Lol, I like the butterscotches, vanillas, and frosting scents more.
DeleteNo I haven't used it yet. Finding it in Nigeria na wahala. Lol at "Chei see fine babes" Carry go my sister. You just dey make us jealous with your big hair ehn?
ReplyDeleteQuestion: How do you smooth your edges and how do you get them to stay down?
Lol no oo my sista! No jealousy around here abeg.
DeleteFor my edges, sometimes I use two gels- eco styler and joie naturals gel, which is like a harder jelly- like agar. If you have ever cultured bacteria in a petri dish, the consistency is stiffer like that.
So, I mist my edges with water.
Apply eco styler and smooth with my edges toothbrush.
Apply Joie naturals to further smooth the edges down.
Tie down with a scarf.
Thanks. I have been using just ecostyler but before I know it the edges are back up. I have tried to ignore them but it gets annoying when you want that smooth finish like in the last picture.
DeleteHmm. Especially in Nigeria's humidity. Do you tie it down with a cotton scarf for bit?
DeleteI like to keep it on for at least 15 mins, and it must be cotton, because it soaks up the moisture from the gel so that my hair is flat when I take it off.
your hair looked grat at the wedding
ReplyDeleteThank you Yoco! I didn't love it, love it lol. But, those "just okay" hairstyles are usually the ones that get the most compliments.
