More Hair play - Bantu Knot out!

As promised, part two of my Nene's Secret  trial is here- ow!

I like to have fun, and while my hair has been out of the Marley twists, I indulged as much as I could in some hair play.
I haven't done a bantu knot out on the blog yet, so I decided I'd try to achieve one using the products.  As my hair had already been stretched and separated from the braidout, this time,  I reached for the leave in conditioner, the butter, the curl cream, and the pudding to ensure hold with softness.

The Review

I re-moisturized my hair with water before I distributed quarter sized amounts of the leave in throughout each section.  After this, I quickly sealed with the butter mix. 
Have I mentioned how awesome these products smell?  I'm not one for floral scents, but I've definitely reached for the leave in quite a number of times since having received it.

*Note that the deep conditioner smells more old school;  harkening back to the days, when I'd stealthily raid my mother's vanity, using up all of her lotions and hair creams.

Aww lol! Memories.

In any case, I found myself obsessively squeezing the bottle of leave in close to my face, just so I'd get more and more whiffs of the amazing scent.

Before I started on the bantu knots, I applied small amounts of the curl creme and the pretty pudding interchangeably, to small sections, as they both promise hold.  I started to notice that my fingers began to gradually feel coated, as if a silicone was one of the ingredients.

It was.

So, I stopped using the curl creme, and continued on with the pudding.  I didn't notice the coated sensation with it.

 Heads up y'all- If you're a curly girl who is anti silicone, be warned.  The Curly & Cute Curl Creme has them. These cones can create a false sense of hair that's smoother and 'healthier' to the touch.  However, once they're washed off, your hair might feel drier.  If you are a curly girl who is more into styling and isn't extremely bothered by these chemicals,  then I'd recommend the use of a good clarifying or cleansing shampoo on washday.  This will serve to remove the 'cone' buildup that comes from the use of silicone laden products.  Make sure you're always re-introducing moisture (aloe, glycerin, water) back into your hair after shampooing.

The Verdict

Unraveled two hours later.  Not too shabby.

I unraveled the bantu knots and was left with soft, loose curls.  You guys know I'm all about effortless looking hair, and I think this certainly looked effortless.

I carefully pulled each curl apart, twice,  mindful to not separate the curl all the way down to the ends.

Due to the summer's humidity all my 'out' hairstyles shrink right up to my shoulders. 

Humidity induced fluffy hair, a few more hours later.   

When my hair is behaving, I really fall in love.  Added to that, is the fact that I'm extra excited when I'm able to add products on the Geri-approved list.

I'm really pleased with the L.I.C ~Leave In Conditioner.  I find it to be a lightweight and sufficiently hydrating moisturizer for my hair texture.

I'd also include P.P.P. ~ Perfect Pretty Pudding on the list, as I found it to be a great aid for soft curl definition.  I've never been a fan of products that promise hold but leave your hair feeling crisp and dry.  This pudding leaves just the right amount of hold to maintain a style, while still allowing hair to feel like hair- touchable and inviting.

Both of these items are priced under $10 which is very fair.  
But, I'm still a proud budget babe, so I'm always looking for a deal.

My giant tubs of Lekair Cholesterol treatments have spoiled me.  :-p  

Can we get quality manufactured natural hair products for under 5 bucks?  Any takers?
